The former Netherlands U17 international remains a promising young talent and will still hope to establish himself in senior football.
While he has managed to score goals during his loan spells this season, the campaign has not fully gone to plan.
Sherif scored four goals across his temporary spells away from Merseyside, but his future at Everton remains uncertain as his contract approaches its expiry date.
His current deal is due to expire at the end of May after he signed a three-year contract in 2023.
There are now major doubts over whether he has done enough during his time at Rotherham and Port Vale to earn a new deal at Everton.
Sherif reportedly earns around £850 per week, which would amount to roughly £44,000 per year.
With only weeks remaining on his contract, the forward may now have to face the possibility of leaving Everton this summer.

At this stage, a new contract at Everton appears unlikely following two relatively underwhelming loan spells in League One.
