Everton Agree To Sign Leicester City Flop As Former Team-Mate Says He Is “Ready For The Premier League”

Leicester City flop is reportedly closing in on a move to Everton after fresh praise from his former team-mate Conor Coady, who believes the he is ready to make the step up to the Premier League.

Leicester are expected to cash in on some of their biggest assets this summer following their relegation, and he is among the players attracting the strongest interest.

Everton had previously been linked with the winger alongside Sunderland, Fulham and Leeds United over the past 12 months.

Despite struggling during the second half of the campaign, Fatawu still managed an impressive overall return in the Championship.

During the final 14 matches under Gary Rowett, the 22-year-old scored just once and failed to register an assist, leading some fans to label him a flop following the club’s disappointing relegation season.

However, before that difficult run, the Ghana international had already produced eight goals and seven assists in his first 32 appearances of the campaign.

His total of 16 goal involvements still placed him among the Championship’s top-performing attackers despite Leicester’s collapse.

Speaking on The Overlap, Coady backed Fatawu to succeed in the top flight and hinted that Premier League clubs would continue monitoring him closely.

> “Fatawu at Leicester. I know Leicester have gone down and I know he’s had a bad second half of the season but I played with Abdul and he’s a very good player on his day. I know he was linked with certain clubs previously, so I would put him in that bracket.”

Fatawu is not expected to be the only winger leaving Leicester this summer, with Jeremy Monga also attracting Premier League interest, while Stephy Mavididi remains a target for several Championship clubs.

Leicester do, however, have Jake Evans returning after an impressive loan spell with Northampton Town in League One.

Meanwhile, Fatawu could further boost his reputation this summer if he impresses for the Ghana national football team against England national football team, Panama national football team and Croatia national football team in North America.
