Coventry City have their sights set on the Premier League after winning the Championship title. The Sky Blues were deserved champions after an excellent year, but are now prioritising preparations for a big step up.
Frank Lampard will be more than aware of the task that awaits from his time as manager of Chelsea and Everton. There will be faith that many of his players can make the jump, but new recruits are a must if they are to be successful.

Now, in a fresh report from TEAMtalk, Leicester City star has been named as a Coventry City transfer target. The talented star will leave Leicester City this summer following their relegation from the Championship, and he has no shortage of admirers.
The Sky Blues have made contact with Fatawu’s representatives but are far from the only ones keen. Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham, Everton and Sunderland have all shown interest, and overseas, the 22-year-old has been eyed by Napoli, RB Leipzig and Trabzonspor.
There was surprise among some that Fatawu didn’t leave Leicester City after their drop from the Premier League in 2025. Perhaps his recent return from an ACL injury made some admirers more hesitant, but he is viewed as an excellent wing talent.
With a dynamite left foot, tricky dribbling and real pace, he has the profile to develop into an excellent winger. The challenge for Fatawu’s next boss is to get the best out of him on a more regular basis.
Aged 22, Fatawu will be backed to grow and maximise his potential. Leicester City will have hoped he could do so under their watch, but their disastrous downward spiral means a move elsewhere is inevitable for the lively winger.
Time will tell just where Fatawu heads. He has no shortage of Premier League opportunities with Coventry City joining the queue.
