Sky Sports CONFIRMS — Newcastle United Star Won’t Play Again This Season After Explosive Jaissle Decision Sends Shockwaves Through St James’ Park! 😳

Matthias Jaissle will lead Newcastle United into a heavy tactical and structural rebuild for the 2026/27 season.

This comes after the shocking departure of head coach Eddie Howe and a turbulent summer transfer window that saw the exit of several core stars.

With no European distractions on their calendar, the Magpies will focus entirely on bouncing back from last year’s disappointing 12th-place finish.

The squad has undergone a drastic transformation. Financial pressures and a reset in the club’s direction prompted the sales of several major players, generating more than €265 million in transfer income.

To replace them, the club has targeted young, highly-rated continental talent as Jaissle begins shaping the team in his own image.

One of the latest players to move on, however, is 19-year-old midfielder Anthony Munda, who will not be playing for the Magpies during the 2026/27 campaign after completing a loan move to Swindon Town.

The club officially announced the move on Monday, confirming that Munda has joined the League Two side for the entire season.

The statement read: “Newcastle United midfielder Anthony Munda has joined League Two club Swindon Town on loan for the 2026/27 season.”

Munda has represented England at under-18 level and has spent most of his career developing through Newcastle’s academy.

The club added: “Anthony joined United’s Academy in 2012 aged nine and has featured regularly for the club’s Under-21 side in recent years. While progressing through the youth ranks at the Magpies, he made his FA Youth Cup debut aged 15, featuring in the third round tie against Charlton Athletic in December 2022.”

The midfielder is the fifth Newcastle player to leave on loan during this transfer window.

Odysseas Vlachodimos has joined Sevilla for a second year on loan, while Harrison Ashby has moved to Luton. Antonio Cordero has returned to Cadiz and Alex Murphy has joined Kaiserslautern.

Munda made his Premier League 2 debut at just 16 during an away clash against Blackburn Rovers in January 2024. He then scored on his second Under-21 start, producing an impressive stoppage-time equaliser against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The club concluded: “Everybody at Newcastle United would like to wish Anthony all the best for the season ahead.”

His departure is another indication of the changes taking place under Jaissle as the new head coach continues to reshape the squad ahead of the new campaign.
