🚨 BREAKING: Newcastle United Ready to BREAK THE BANK for Highly-Rated Star — Final Decision Now Looms!

Newcastle United are not finished in the transfer market just yet.

Despite making significant changes to the squad this summer, the Magpies are still looking for another attacking option, and their latest move could see them return to Ligue 1 for one of France’s most exciting young talents.

The player in question has already attracted plenty of attention across Europe after an impressive breakthrough season. Newcastle have now stepped up their interest and, according to reports from France, have made an offer to Lille for the forward.

That player is Matias Fernández-Pardo.

The 21-year-old has been on Newcastle’s radar for some time, and the club’s interest is now much more concrete. L’Équipe reported that Newcastle submitted an offer worth around €40 million plus potential add-ons for the Belgium international.

However, that figure may not be enough to convince Lille to sell.

Fernández-Pardo enjoyed a strong 2025/26 campaign, scoring eight Ligue 1 goals and providing five assists as Lille finished third in the league. His performances also earned him international recognition with Belgium.

It is easy to understand why Newcastle are interested.

The youngster can operate in several attacking positions and would give Matthias Jaissle another player capable of providing pace, movement and creativity in the final third.

Newcastle’s interest also comes at an interesting time.

The club have already been reshaping the squad following several major departures, while Jaissle is still trying to build an attack capable of competing consistently in the Premier League.

The arrival of another versatile forward could therefore be an important part of the manager’s plans.

But Newcastle are not alone.

Atlético Madrid and RB Leipzig have also been linked with Fernández-Pardo, meaning the Magpies could face serious competition if they decide to push ahead with the transfer.

Lille, meanwhile, are under no pressure to accept Newcastle’s opening proposal. Reports suggest the French club’s valuation is significantly higher, with figures around €70 million being mentioned. A later report claimed Newcastle could be prepared to increase their offer to around €60 million including bonuses.

That leaves the situation finely balanced.

For Newcastle, the next few days could be crucial. With the transfer deadline approaching, the club must decide whether Fernández-Pardo is worth pushing the financial limits for or whether to move on to another target.

For Jaissle, though, the message is clear.

The Newcastle manager wants more attacking options, and the club appear willing to explore another major signing before the window closes.

Whether Lille eventually lower their demands remains to be seen.

But one thing is becoming increasingly obvious: Newcastle are still working behind the scenes, and Fernández-Pardo could be the next big name through the door at St James’ Park.
