Matt Piper Has HAD ENOUGH! Leicester City Legend RIPS Into Board Over Russell Martin After 4-0 Oxford Defeat — What He Said Next Left Fans STUNNED

Former Leicester City player Matt Piper has questioned whether Russell Martin can turn the club’s situation around after another deeply disappointing performance, insisting that the growing frustration among supporters can no longer be ignored.

Leicester City’s 4-0 defeat to Oxford United at the King Power Stadium has intensified the pressure on Martin, with the Foxes struggling to find consistency despite starting the season with ambitions of challenging near the top of League One.

For Piper, the concern goes far beyond Saturday’s result. He believes Leicester’s problems are becoming increasingly difficult to ignore and has questioned whether the board made the right decision by appointing Martin in the first place.

“I honestly don’t understand why the board appointed him in the first place. There were already serious warning signs from his time at Rangers, so why bring him to Leicester? For me, he’s simply not the right man for this job.

“At some point, you have to look beyond one result and ask yourself where this is heading. The performances aren’t giving the fans much to hold on to, and that’s the worrying thing for me.

“These supporters are hurting. They’re starving for something to believe in, and right now, they’re not getting it. They want to see fight, character and some identity from their team.

“You can’t keep asking supporters to turn up, spend their money and give everything to this club while they’re being served performances like this. They deserve better.

“And the board needs to understand how quickly things can turn. If they keep allowing this to continue without taking action, there’s a real danger they could completely lose the fans. Once that connection is gone, it’s incredibly difficult to get it back.

“For me, the biggest concern isn’t just the defeat. It’s whether Russell Martin can actually change the direction of this team. Because if he can’t, then somebody has to make a very difficult decision.

“At this stage, I think Russell Martin has to be honest with himself. If he genuinely believes he can’t get this team where it needs to be, then perhaps the right thing is to step away.

“For me, I think he should resign. It might be difficult to hear, but honestly, I believe that would be the best thing for both Russell Martin and Leicester City.”
