JUST IN: What Sandro Tonali Told Eddie Howe Before Newcastle Reluctantly Sanctioned His £100m Tottenham Move

Sandro Tonali is set to complete his £100million move to Tottenham Hotspur after bringing an eventful three-year spell at Newcastle United to an end.

Reports indicate that the Italian midfielder informed Newcastle officials that he was ready to pursue a new challenge this summer, paving the way for one of the biggest transfers in the club’s history. Sources close to the situation suggest that Tonali had become increasingly open to the idea of leaving St James’ Park after an inconsistent 2025/26 campaign.

Head coach Eddie Howe was reportedly among the first people at Newcastle to learn of Tonali’s desire to seek a fresh opportunity. The pair had developed a strong relationship following Tonali’s return from his 10-month suspension related to betting offences committed during his time in Italy with AC Milan.
