Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, who took over from his late father in 2018, is now under serious pressure as the club continues its shocking decline.
Despite lifting the FA Cup in 2021, Leicester have since fallen apart, and back-to-back relegations are now becoming a real possibility.
The defeat to Swansea summed up everything wrong with the team poor performances, lack of urgency, and a squad that looks completely drained of confidence.
Financial problems have only made things worse. The club has suffered heavy losses, reportedly around £180 million, which led to a six-point deduction earlier this season for breaching Profit and Sustainability rules. That punishment has played a huge role in dragging Leicester down to 23rd.
Speaking earlier in the season, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha openly accepted responsibility for the club’s struggles. He said:
> “The person most people should blame is me because I own the club, I’m the chairman.
I’m worried too. Every year we try to comply with the PSR, and the only year we didn’t fully understand it is the year we were relegated.”

“If some prince comes in, maybe yes, and the club can be like Man City for example! But I am sure that is a long, long way to go. I still love it here, I want to make sure the club is successful again.”
His statement highlights the growing concern inside the club, especially with fears that more financial consequences could still follow.
With the team now deep in the relegation zone, fans are becoming increasingly frustrated. Many are calling for major changes, with some even questioning whether new ownership is needed to save the club from further decline.
However, respected journalist Henry Winter believes a sale is unlikely. He explained that it would be an extremely difficult emotional decision for Top to walk away, given his strong personal attachment to Leicester City and the legacy built by his family.
Still, emotions may not be enough to stop what is happening on the pitch.
The reality is clear Leicester are in serious trouble. Sitting 23rd after the Swansea defeat, the Foxes are running out of time to turn things around.
Unless something changes quickly, the club could be heading for a shocking drop into League One.
