Everton exploring move to sign “fantastic” Premier League star from West Ham United

With West Ham United left to raise £150m in player sales following relegation from the Premier League, Everton have set their sights on Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

After Seamus Coleman brought his Everton career to an end against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, the search for a new long-term right-back has commenced at Everton.

Replacing his leadership won’t be easy, nor will replacing his consistency. It’s exactly why the 37-year-old lasted as long as he did with the Toffees and exactly why they face a tough task when seeking the heir to his throne.

To that end, the next in line could also come at a bargain price, which would be all too fitting. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Everton are “exploring” a move to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from West Ham this summer.

The relegated Hammers have to raise around £150m in player sales this summer and have brought Wan-Bissaka’s asking price down to just £10m as a result.

It would be an absolute bargain for Everton, who’d be landing one of the best one-on-one defenders that English football has to offer. Given that West Ham also have little choice but to allow such players to leave, it should be a routine deal for the Toffees to wrap up this summer.

As for the defender, himself, a move to the Hill Dickinson wouldn’t exactly be a bad way to jump straight back to the Premier League. The right-back missed out on playing under David Moyes at West Ham, but could now have the perfect chance to do so at Everton.

In terms of quality and price, Everton won’t find a lot better than Wan-Bissaka. He is certainly not Championship level, either. This is a player who should be playing top-flight football, as reflected by praise from talkSPORT’s Micky Gray during Wan-Bissaka’s time at Manchester United.

The commentator dubbed the then-Man Utd defender “fantastic” at the time and has since watched him thrive at West Ham. Just what is next remains the big question. If it is to be Everton, then he’ll be hoping to make that right-back spot his own.
