Breaking news – Jamie Vardy Announced His Return To Leicester City

Jamie Vardy remains one of the greatest stories English football has ever seen. After joining Leicester City from non-league side Fleetwood Town in 2012 for just £1 million, many doubted whether he could make the step up. Instead, he became the symbol of Leicester’s most successful era.

Vardy scored 200 goals in 500 appearances for the Foxes, helping the club win the Premier League in the unforgettable 2015/16 season against 5000-1 odds, before later lifting the FA Cup in 2021.

His aggressive pressing, relentless running and clinical finishing made him a nightmare for defenders, while his loyalty to Leicester turned him into a club icon.

Even years later, supporters still sing his name as the man who helped turn an underdog dream into football history.

Vardy’s journey was never a normal football story. Before reaching the top, he worked in a factory and played non-league football, only making his Premier League debut at 27.

He went on to break Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record by scoring in 11 consecutive Premier League matches during Leicester’s title-winning campaign, while his fearless mentality perfectly reflected the spirit of that historic team under Claudio Ranieri.

His connection with Leicester fans became even stronger because he stayed committed to the club despite interest from bigger European sides, choosing legacy and loyalty over glamour.

Following the end of his legendary 13-year spell at Leicester, Vardy completed a move to Italian side US Cremonese on a free transfer in September 2025.

The veteran striker signed a one-year deal after leaving Leicester as one of the club’s greatest-ever players.

His arrival in Italy immediately generated excitement among Cremonese supporters, with the English striker quickly becoming a fan favourite in Serie A.

Reports from Italy even described Leicester supporters travelling to Cremona just to watch and meet him, showing how strong his bond with the Foxes fanbase still remains.

Now, fresh reports from Italy suggest Vardy could be considering one final emotional return to Leicester City before retirement.

According to reports from Gazzetta.it via Cremonasera, the striker still feels a deep connection to the club despite beginning a new adventure abroad.

The possibility of seeing Vardy back at the King Power Stadium for one last season has already sparked excitement among supporters, especially during a difficult period for Leicester after their recent relegation struggles.

For many fans, a final Vardy return would not just be about football it would feel like bringing a piece of Leicester’s greatest era back home.
