Abdulhafiz TeslimA highly-rated Serie A midfielder has openly admitted that a move to the Premier League would be difficult to turn down amid growing interest from several English clubs this summer.
The Udinese star has emerged as a player being monitored by Newcastle United, Everton and Fulham following an impressive campaign in Italy, where he registered five goals and four assists.
While the midfielder stopped short of inviting clubs to make a move for him, he made it clear that playing in England’s top flight is an ambition he hopes to fulfil one day.
Speaking to the iPaper, he said: “The Premier League is the best league in the world, if I were to say otherwise it would be a lie. It’s a league that everyone would like to be playing in one day.
“I have not spoken to any clubs yet so I don’t know what can happen in the future. I play for Udinese and I would like to keep growing and keep playing – this is the most important thing for me.
“If there are opportunities in the next transfer window, then the club and I will look at the options. I’m really good at Udinese – they help me a lot. I’m a better player compared to when I came.
“The Premier League is the most-followed league where there are a lot of top players. It’s a difficult league, so all games are at a top-quality level. I think that’s why it is the most attractive league.”
Newcastle continue to assess their options in midfield ahead of the new season, with Eddie Howe keen to add further quality and depth to his squad.
Should the Magpies decide to pursue a deal, the Udinese man believes his style of play is perfectly suited to the demands of English football.
“I’m a player who likes to have the ball in the build-up, to be close to goal, to give my team-mates good balls, create space for team-mates and also move a lot to disturb the opponents,” he explained.
“I like to play centrally and exploit spaces created when opponents struggle to track my movements.
“I have physical and athletic qualities that could be useful in the Premier League. I’m a creative player who can also make a difference one against one. All these things could make me a success in England.”
With Newcastle, Everton and Fulham all reportedly monitoring the situation, his latest comments are unlikely to go unnoticed as the summer transfer window gathers pace.
The player attracting attention from across the Premier League is Udinese midfielder Arthur Atta.
