Manzambi is currently on the books at SC Freiburg. First Toure and now the Swiss midfielder — it demonstrates that the Bundesliga is a market Newcastle have been scouting heavily.
Manzambi has also made a significant impact at the ongoing World Cup. He has been one of the key reasons behind Switzerland topping their group, contributing three goals and one assist despite making just one start.
Would Manzambi be a good signing?
A player as versatile as Manzambi would add a great deal to this Newcastle United squad. Of course, the Swiss international is viewed by many as a potential replacement for Tonali in midfield.
However, Manzambi also possesses the ability to operate as a second striker. Given his recent output, it is clear that he has an eye for goal.
It remains to be seen whether the move will ultimately go through. However, it would not be a surprise to see Manzambi wearing a Newcastle United shirt next season.
