🚨 BREAKING: Newcastle Suffer HUGE Transfer Blow as £100m Germany Star REJECTS Move for One Brutal Reason!

Felix Nmecha is unsure about joining Newcastle United this summer as they are unable to offer Champions League football for the upcoming season, sources have told Football Insider.

Newcastle have identified Nmecha as a target to bolster their midfield amid a major shake-up of Eddie Howe’s squad.

Sandro Tonali completed a £100million move to Tottenham last week, while Bruno Guimaraes has reportedly asked to leave as Arsenal eye his services.

Nmecha recently impressed for Germany at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, while he has been a regular for Borussia Dortmund over the past several seasons.

Even though the Magpies admire the 25-year-old, he is reportedly set to snub their interest in favour of joining a club that can offer Champions League football if he leaves Dortmund this summer, according to Football Insider.

Dortmund also remain keen to keep hold of his services, and a stay at the Bundesliga club cannot be ruled out.

Felix Nmecha to Newcastle latest as interest emerges

According to Football Insider, Borussia Dortmund have placed a reported £100million valuation on Nmecha in an attempt to discourage interested clubs from making a move.

The midfielder registered six goals and three assists in 47 appearances last season, helping Dortmund finish second in the Bundesliga and secure another season of Champions League football, while Newcastle finished 13th in the Premier League.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, the report explained:

> “For Nmecha, if he were to leave Dortmund, I would imagine he would want to join a club that can offer him Champions League football and playing at the highest level.

> “Unfortunately, Newcastle don’t have Champions League football this season, so it’s going to be difficult for them to land those top, marquee signings in that respect.

> “With Dortmund not willing to sell Nmecha, I would imagine it’ll be a difficult deal to do for Newcastle, and the German club are still counting on Nmecha as well. I think they’ll be doing everything they can to keep hold of him.”

Which other clubs are keen on Nmecha?

Germany’s World Cup campaign ended in a shock Round of 32 defeat to Paraguay, leading to increased speculation over Nmecha’s future.

Alongside Newcastle, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been linked with the Dortmund midfielder.

Football Insider has also reported that Manchester United have shortlisted Nmecha as a midfield target, with reports claiming manager Michael Carrick sees him as a potential long-term replacement for Casemiro.
