His performances have also carried onto the international stage. During the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the young midfielder has played a key role in Switzerland’s impressive run to the quarter-finals, contributing two goals and two assists along the way.
A minor knee injury forced him to miss Switzerland’s penalty shootout victory over Colombia in the Round of 16, leaving him doubtful for the quarter-final clash against Argentina.
With Newcastle pushing to finalize personal terms and Aston Villa waiting for any opportunity to strike, the race is entering a crucial stage.
