Russell Martin Drops BOMBSHELL After Oxford United HUMILIATED Leicester City 4-0 at King Power Stadium

Leicester City suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Oxford United at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, leaving Russell Martin under further pressure after another disappointing result.

Mark Harris opened the scoring in the eighth minute before 17-year-old Mo Missanga doubled Oxford’s lead shortly after half-time. Harris added his second three minutes later, while Jamie McDonnell completed the scoring late in the game.

Despite dominating possession, Leicester struggled to create enough clear chances and were repeatedly exposed when Oxford broke forward.

After the final whistle, Martin was asked to explain what went wrong.

The Leicester manager pointed to a lack of experience, fatigue and the demanding schedule as some of the factors behind the performance.

Martin believes the workload has placed additional demands on a squad that has undergone significant changes, with several players still adapting to their new surroundings and the demands of League One.

However, his explanation is unlikely to satisfy everyone.

The biggest frustration for supporters was the way Leicester responded once Oxford established control. The home side had plenty of the ball but struggled to find a way through, while Oxford made the most of the opportunities that came their way.

The defeat leaves Martin with more questions to answer as he looks to turn Leicester’s form around.

For a club hoping to challenge at the top of League One, Saturday’s performance was a major setback, and Martin will now be expected to produce a response in the games ahead.
