PRO Referee Chief Howard Webb Drops EXPLOSIVE Refereeing Error Confession, Admits Leicester City Were Denied Victory Against Luton 😲

The English FA’s head of referees, Howard Webb, has reportedly addressed the controversial officiating surrounding Leicester City’s heartbreaking 2-1 defeat to Luton Town, after the Foxes saw a goal ruled out in circumstances that sparked furious reactions from supporters.

Russell Martin’s side travelled to Kenilworth Road on Saturday, October 24, hoping to secure a positive result, but the match ended in further disappointment after Callum Marshall struck a dramatic 94th-minute winner for the home side.

However, the result was overshadowed by a controversial decision involving Emil Riis, with Leicester fans left questioning how a goal that was initially awarded could later be disallowed.

The controversy has sparked widespread frustration among Leicester supporters, particularly because League One does not use VAR to review such incidents.

With the officials coming under intense scrutiny, attention has now turned to the decision that changed the course of the game and whether the correct procedure was followed.

Leicester had appeared to have a major breakthrough when Emil Riis found the net, only for referee Martin Woods to reverse the decision after protests from Luton players.

The incident immediately became a talking point, with Foxes supporters questioning why the original decision was overturned and whether the assistant referee’s input was sufficient to justify the change.

The situation became even more frustrating for Leicester after Will Smallbone appeared to suffer a kick to the head inside Luton’s penalty area. The Foxes’ supporters were left unhappy that no penalty was awarded, adding to their growing concerns about the consistency of the officiating throughout the encounter.

The absence of VAR in League One only intensified the debate. Without video technology available to review the incident, Leicester fans were left demanding a clear explanation of how the officials reached their decision and whether the goal should have stood.

Meanwhile, the defeat itself was painful enough for Martin’s men. Nahki Wells had put Luton ahead in the 39th minute before Liam Cullen appeared to rescue a point with a superb 90th-minute equaliser. However, John Lundstram’s second yellow card and Marshall’s late winner turned the contest into another miserable afternoon for Leicester.

Following the growing outrage, Howard Webb has personally reviewed the incident, admitted an officiating error and issues an apology to Leicester supporters.
