Newcastle United have been one of the busiest clubs in the transfer market this summer, with Matthias Jaissle overseeing a major reshaping of his squad at St James’ Park.
The Magpies have already welcomed several new faces, but with the transfer deadline approaching, the club was still working behind the scenes on another major attacking addition.
Newcastle’s summer spending has continued to attract plenty of attention, with the club determined to bring in players who fit Jaissle’s style and strengthen the squad for the challenges ahead.
After several days of negotiations, the Magpies finally reached a breakthrough on a deal that could become one of the biggest moves of their summer window.

And now, the latest update from Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie has sent Newcastle supporters into excitement, with confirmation that the club’s highly anticipated new signing has completed his medical following a dramatic late-night operation.
The player has also been handed a new shirt number at St James’ Park, with his arrival now closer than ever to being officially announced.
Matias Fernandez-Pardo has COMPLETED his Newcastle United medical after the Magpies reached a £51m agreement with Lille.
The 21-year-old Belgian international arrived on Tyneside last night after boarding a private jet to Newcastle with his family.
According to Keith Downie, it was a very late night for both Fernandez-Pardo and Newcastle’s medical team, with neither allowed to go to bed until the medical was completed.
Newcastle have now paid Lille £51m for the forward, with the club viewing the signing on a similar level to their move for Nico Gonzalez.
Fernandez-Pardo will wear the No.20 shirt at St James’ Park and is set to become Newcastle’s latest summer signing.
The former KAA Gent star is expected to be unveiled as a Newcastle United player shortly.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United Manager confirms that Nick Woltemade is closing in on a move away from Newcastle, with the striker having arrived in Turin to complete his medical ahead of a loan move to Juventus.
The deal is expected to be a straight loan with no option or obligation to buy. Juventus will reportedly pay a £3.5m loan fee and cover Woltemade’s wages in full.
The move was only sanctioned after Newcastle reached an agreement to sign Fernandez-Pardo.
The Magpies will now hope Fernandez-Pardo can quickly settle in and make an impact under Matthias Jaissle.
