Leicester City Handed HUGE BOOST After Burton NIGHTMARE as Russell Martin Reveals Big SHOCK Tuesday Morning Update Ahead of Ipswich!

Leicester City head into tonight’s Carabao Cup clash with Ipswich Town knowing that Russell Martin could make several changes to his starting XI at Portman Road.

The Foxes are looking to respond after a frustrating start to their League One campaign, having picked up just one point from their opening two matches. Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Burton Albion has increased the pressure to deliver a positive result.

However, Martin has been handed some encouraging news ahead of the trip to Ipswich, with two players moving closer to returning to action.

One of those players is Conor Chaplin, who missed the Burton defeat despite returning to training last week. The forward had been edging closer to full fitness, but Leicester opted against rushing him back.

That could now change against his former club.

Chaplin trained with the team and is expected to be available for Tuesday’s Carabao Cup fixture, potentially giving him the opportunity to make his Leicester City debut.

Martin said: “They both trained this morning. Conor trained, similarly really [to JJ], but is not quite there yet. They’ll both be available for Tuesday.”

The other player involved is Jayden Joseph, who missed the Burton game after taking a heavy blow during Leicester’s opening match against Notts County.

Joseph played through the challenge in that game and even scored Leicester’s first goal of the season, but the subsequent foot issue kept him out against Burton.

Martin had previously explained: “JJ took a whack really early on in the Notts County game and managed to play through. He’s been training so we just have to assess that. He’s fine, he’s good to go.”

Ahead of the Ipswich clash, Martin provided another positive update, saying Joseph had completed a session designed to help him return quickly.

“It’s a real loss for us because he was fantastic last week. They’ll both be available for Tuesday,” Martin said.

The potential return of both Chaplin and Joseph gives Martin additional options as Leicester prepare for their second-round Carabao Cup tie.

With the Foxes desperate to respond after the Burton setback, their availability could prove particularly important as Martin looks to rotate his squad while keeping Leicester’s cup hopes alive.
