JUST IN: Newcastle Preparing Massive Bid for Midfield Monster as European Rivals Circle for Shock Summer Transfer

Arthur Atta is likely to leave Udinese Calcio this summer, with Newcastle United hopeful of securing a deal.

The midfielder impressed throughout the 2025/26 campaign, contributing to ten goals in all competitions. He showcased his strengths in carrying the ball forward from midfield and making an impact in the final third.

Three English clubs lurking

Messaggero Veneto, via UdineseBlog, has provided a deeper look into the midfielder’s situation.

According to the report, Newcastle United, Brighton & Hove Albion and AFC Bournemouth are all in the race for his signature. Fulham no longer appear to be in the picture, with Atta’s valuation having risen significantly in recent months.

At this stage, the Magpies are reportedly willing to offer €35m. Brighton and Bournemouth are believed to be prepared to match that figure, with the south coast side boosted by European qualification.

However, that fee is still not enough for Udinese, who now value Atta at around €40m. An offer in that region could trigger a sale, with the Friulian club set to make a substantial profit after spending just €8m to sign the player permanently in the summer of 2025. Italian clubs are also said to be monitoring the situation.

Atta suited to English football

Over the last few months, the 23-year-old has developed both technically and physically. He offers unpredictability in midfield and has consistently shown a willingness to cover ground.

Those qualities make him an ideal fit for the Premier League, which should further encourage Newcastle United.

While Atta is not a direct replacement for Sandro Tonali, his style is arguably more similar to Joelinton. He constantly looks to drive forward while also possessing a combative edge to his game. Eddie Howe’s intense style of football appears perfectly suited to Atta’s work rate, suggesting his value could rise even further at St James’ Park.

Udinese are known as a selling club, and there remains a possibility they could lower their asking price.
