The Foxes suffered one of the darkest moments in their modern history on April 21 after a 2-2 draw against Hull City confirmed back-to-back relegations.
It completed a shocking fall for a club that lifted the Premier League title only ten years ago in 2016. Leicester also ended the 2025/26 campaign with one of the worst records in the club’s recent history, as financial struggles, inconsistent performances, and instability behind the scenes all contributed to the collapse.
Back in February, Leicester appointed Gary Rowett on a short-term deal until the end of the season in an attempt to rescue their campaign.
However, Rowett was unable to stop the decline, with the club winning very few matches during his time in charge before relegation was eventually confirmed.
Reports across England have already suggested that Rowett is expected to leave the King Power Stadium this summer, although Leicester have still not released any official clarification regarding his future.
That silence has only increased frustration among supporters, many of whom expected immediate action after the club’s disastrous season came to an end.
The uncertainty does not stop with the manager. Several senior players are also expected to leave Leicester during the summer rebuild.
Rowett himself admitted after relegation that “a lot of the players will leave,” while loanees are set to return to their parent clubs.
So far, the only major confirmed departure announced by Leicester is long-serving defender Ricardo Pereira, whose exit officially brings an end to an important chapter after years of service at the club.
What is frustrating supporters even more is the lack of communication from the club hierarchy.
In four days, it will officially be 30 days since Leicester’s relegation was confirmed, yet there has still been no announcement regarding the next permanent manager, no detailed rebuild plan made public, and very little communication concerning player departures or transfer activity.
Many fans on social media have openly criticised the board for what they believe is a slow and passive response during one of the most important periods in the club’s modern history.
Some supporters sarcastically claimed that May appears to have become “a holiday month” for the club’s leadership after such a disappointing campaign.
The mood around the King Power Stadium remains tense as supporters continue demanding transparency and urgent action ahead of next season.
After years of instability, questionable recruitment decisions, and disappointing performances on the pitch, many fans now fear Leicester could face an even more difficult future if major decisions continue to be delayed.
