Potential Managers on Leicester City Shortlist as Interviews Continue
Leicester City are still yet to confirm who will become the club’s next manager, with interviews reportedly ongoing behind the scenes. According to sources close to the club, discussions are continuing as Leicester prepare for a major rebuild ahead of next season.
Gary Rowett previously admitted he would be interested in the role during interviews around the Blackburn match, but he now appears unlikely to take over at the King Power Stadium. Rowett was recently seen working as part of the Sky Sports panel during the Championship play-off clash between Millwall and Hull City.
The current shortlist remains similar to previous reports. Darren Ferguson is still viewed as the leading candidate, while Chris Davies and Russell Martin are also being seriously considered. Christian Fuchs has been mentioned internally, although many believe he is not yet ready for such a role. Scott Parker is also admired by some at the club, but he is considered difficult to appoint and is not among the leading options.
Russell Martin remains an interesting candidate despite concerns over his possession-based style of football. He guided Southampton to promotion to the Premier League, but struggled in the top flight and eventually lost his job. He later moved to Rangers, but failed to make a significant impact before leaving after only a short spell.
Chris Davies, who previously worked under Brendan Rodgers at Leicester, is currently Birmingham City manager. However, a move appears difficult at this stage, especially with compensation likely required. Although there are suggestions he could leave Birmingham this summer, he remains in charge for now.

One coach attracting growing attention is Lincoln City manager Robert Scubala. He has impressed with the job he has done at Lincoln and has reportedly been discussed as a possible Leicester candidate. However, he is also strongly linked with the vacant Bristol City job.

Will Still is another name that has been mentioned, although he currently sits low in the betting odds. Still is currently available, alongside his brother Edward Still, who recently left Watford. Their younger brother Nicolas Still is currently assistant manager at Club Brugge.
The Still brothers have worked together before, most notably at RC Lens during the 2024–25 season. Will Still became Lens manager in 2024 and brought both Edward and Nicolas into his coaching staff.
Edward has also managed clubs in Belgium and recently coached Watford, while Nicolas has built experience as a video analyst and assistant coach.
Despite the speculation, Will Still remains a long-shot candidate for the Leicester role at this stage.
