BREAKING NEWS – Premier League Clubs On Alert As Leeds Target One Of The Championship’s Best Young Talents

Leeds United have already secured another season in the Premier League with matches still left to play, and attention is now beginning to turn towards the summer transfer window.

With survival guaranteed, the club are stepping up their planning behind the scenes and continuing to assess several potential targets ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Unlike last summer, Leeds are not expected to make sweeping changes to the squad, but they are still keen to strengthen several key areas.

One of the priorities is midfield, and Hayden Hackney has emerged as one of the club’s top targets ahead of the summer window.

Middlesbrough set asking price

Middlesbrough suffered disappointment in the Championship play-off semi-finals against Southampton, although uncertainty still surrounds the ongoing “Spygate” controversy.

Despite that situation, Boro are currently expected to remain in the Championship next season, which could increase the chances of Hackney leaving this summer.

Leeds are understood to be seriously interested in the midfielder and are keen to bring him to Elland Road.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, Middlesbrough have now set their asking price for the highly-rated midfielder.

The report claims Boro want more than £20 million for Hackney during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The club are reluctant to lower their demands and would even consider keeping him until January, when he would enter the final six months of his contract.

Leeds are believed to be one of three Premier League clubs currently pushing to sign Hackney.

Hackney flourished during Michael Carrick’s time at the Riverside Stadium, with the former England midfielder helping him develop into one of the Championship’s standout young midfielders.

Given the growing interest from Premier League clubs, Leeds may need to move quickly if they want to secure his signature ahead of rivals in the coming months.
