BREAKING: Chelsea Suffer Major Transfer Blow as “Dream Signing” Chooses Newcastle United Instead

Chelsea are unlikely to be able to bring Abde Ezzalzouli to Stamford Bridge, with a report claiming that the Real Betis winger wants to join Newcastle United instead following the impending departure of Anthony Gordon.

Gordon is expected to leave Newcastle to join Barcelona in a deal worth £69 million.

The England international is regarded as one of the best left-wingers in the Premier League, and Newcastle are now searching for a replacement.

According to TEAMtalk, Newcastle believe that Abde Ezzalzouli would be an ideal fit for Eddie Howe’s side.

Like Gordon, Ezzalzouli operates primarily on the left wing and enjoyed an impressive campaign this season.

The Morocco international scored 15 goals and provided 13 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions for Betis.

The reliable transfer outlet also reports that Chelsea are interested in Ezzalzouli.

Chelsea owners BlueCo have reportedly “shown interest” in the winger, while Manchester City owners City Football Group are also monitoring the situation.

Everton and Aston Villa are said to be keen on the former Barcelona winger as well. Ezzalzouli has a release clause worth €60 million (£52m/$70m) in his contract with Betis.

However, according to TEAMtalk, Newcastle are increasingly confident of signing the winger as their “dream Anthony Gordon replacement”.

Newcastle, who endured a disappointing 2025/26 campaign under Eddie Howe, have reportedly been carrying out extensive work on Ezzalzouli for several months.

The Magpies have now accelerated their pursuit of the Betis star following Gordon’s expected exit from St James’ Park.
