Leicester City’s troubled Championship season was put under the spotlight on talkSPORT’s White & Jordan, with former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan delivering a blunt verdict on their survival hopes.

“They’re done. Look who they’ve got to play,” Jordan said. “Hull are pushing for the playoffs, Millwall are in the mix as well, and Blackburn are just above them. With all due respect… they’re done.”

It wasn’t just the run-in that concerned him. Jordan pointed to deeper issues at the club, suggesting Leicester have lost their way amid ongoing financial fair play problems.

“There’s something rotten inside Leicester,” he said. “They’ve spent too much time trying to work around financial breaches, whether in the Premier League or the Championship, and not enough time focusing on what’s happening on the pitch.”

What makes their position harder to understand is the quality in the squad. Between them, Jordan and Martin Keown reeled off names like Harry Winks, Jannik Vestergaard, and others players who, on paper, shouldn’t be anywhere near the bottom three.

“When you look at that team, it’s quite ridiculous they’re in this position,” Jordan added. “Even with the points deduction, you can’t hide behind that excuse.”

Keown agreed, pointing to a clear underperformance across the board.

“There’s too much quality there to be in this situation,” he said. “They’ve only got themselves to blame… and once you start dropping, it can become a slippery slope.”

The conversation also touched on Harry Winks’ confrontation with a supporter after a recent defeat an incident both pundits saw as a sign of growing tension around the club.

Jordan, however, made it clear that responsibility doesn’t sit with one person.

“They’re all in it,” he said. “The ownership, the players, the manager none of them should escape it.”

He did offer some sympathy for manager Gary Rowett, suggesting he has walked into a difficult environment rather than created it.

“He might end up with the indignity of taking two teams down,” Jordan said. “But I don’t think he’s really at the root of this. He’s come into a toxic situation.”

With Leicester still adrift in the relegation zone and facing a demanding final stretch, the mood around the club is growing increasingly bleak. If Jordan’s assessment is anything to go by, the Foxes may already be running out of road.
