BOMBSHELL — EFL Finally Breaks Silence on Leicester City’s Controversial Penalty Decision as Furious Fans Discover WHY Will Smallbone Was Denied a Spot-Kick After a Dangerous Foul 😲

Leicester City fans have been left furious after another painful afternoon ended in disappointment, with the controversial decision not to award a penalty following a dangerous challenge on Will Smallbone becoming one of the biggest talking points of the Foxes’ 2-1 defeat to Luton Town.

Russell Martin’s side looked set to leave Kenilworth Road with a point after Liam Cullen scored a brilliant equaliser in the 90th minute. However, Callum Marshall struck in stoppage time to give Luton all three points, leaving Leicester supporters with fresh reasons to question what went wrong.

But while the late winner was a devastating blow, the incident involving Smallbone threatened to overshadow the result itself.

The Leicester midfielder was involved in a penalty-box incident in the 78th minute when Luton defender Liam Walsh attempted an overhead-kick clearance. According to the match report published by Luton Today, Walsh was fortunate not to concede a penalty, getting to the ball just before making contact with Smallbone.

The decision immediately became a major talking point for Leicester supporters, particularly given how much was at stake as the visitors searched for a way back into the game.

The penalty controversy was not the only contentious moment of the afternoon. Leicester had also seen an apparent Emil Riis goal ruled out for offside in the first half, after referee Martin Woods consulted his assistant.

Luton later took the lead through Nahki Wells before John Lundstram was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 85th minute. Cullen’s late equaliser briefly gave Leicester hope, but Marshall’s stoppage-time winner ensured the Foxes left empty-handed.

EFL confirms Refeering errors in their statements stating that it was due to lack of quality reviews that Leicester City wasn’t awarded a penalty.
