Leicester City finally returned to winning ways on Saturday, but the dramatic nature of their 4-3 victory over Stockport County has left supporters with more questions than answers.
The Foxes appeared to have the game comfortably under control after building a commanding 4-1 advantage at Edgeley Park.
Liam Cullen opened the scoring in the 11th minute before Jack Diamond levelled the match for Stockport.
Leicester responded through Emil Riis, who scored either side of half-time, before debutant John Lundstram headed home to give Russell Martin’s side a seemingly commanding lead.
But the comfortable afternoon Leicester appeared to be heading towards quickly turned into a nervy finish.
Ollie Norwood pulled one back for Stockport in the 57th minute before Kyle Wootton made it 4-3 with his tap-in on his 200th appearance for the club.

The Foxes eventually held on to claim all three points, but conceding twice after taking a 4-1 lead once again raised questions about Leicester’s defensive organisation.
Those concerns have become even more significant given what has been happening around experienced centre-back Wout Faes.
Faes is back at Leicester after spending the second half of last season on loan at AS Monaco. His loan ended in June, and the Belgian remains under contract with the Foxes until June 2027.
More importantly, he was included in Leicester’s 2026/27 League One squad alongside Woyo Coulibaly, meaning he remains registered and available to the club.
However, despite Leicester’s defensive struggles, Faes was not involved in the latest victory over Stockport.
That decision is certain to raise eyebrows among supporters, particularly after Leicester conceded four goals against Oxford United before allowing Stockport to turn a 4-1 deficit into a one-goal game.
Faes’ situation had already attracted attention during the summer after he was linked with a move to West Ham, although that proposed transfer ultimately did not happen and he remained at Leicester.
Now, with the experienced defender still at the club but not featuring in the latest match, questions are naturally being asked about his future under Martin.
The manager has reportedly left the door open for Faes to return to the squad, so there is currently no confirmed evidence that the defender has been completely frozen out.
But the situation has become increasingly difficult to ignore.
Leicester need defensive stability, Faes remains registered with the club, and yet he watched on as his teammates nearly surrendered a three-goal advantage against Stockport.
That has inevitably fuelled speculation about whether the Belgian’s future at Leicester could become one of the biggest stories surrounding the club in the coming weeks.
For now, there is no confirmed official announcement that Faes has decided to leave Leicester.
But after another chaotic defensive performance and his continued absence from the team, the pressure surrounding his situation is growing rapidly.
And if the frustration eventually reaches breaking point, Leicester could soon have another major problem to deal with away from the pitch.
