adminTottenham have made Martin Dubravka their fourth signing of the summer in a move which will pave the way for Antonin Kinsky to become first-choice goalkeeper.
Experienced former Newcastle and Manchester United stopper Martin Dubravka has agreed to join Spurs on a free transfer after leaving Burnley at the end of the 2025/26 season.
The decision to bring in Dubravka rather than target a high-profile goalkeeper is the latest sign of faith in Kinsky, who recovered from a difficult performance against Atletico Madrid in March to play a key role in Tottenham’s successful fight against relegation.
Italy international Guglielmo Vicario is expected to leave Spurs this summer, leaving Kinsky as the club’s new number one, with Dubravka, 37, providing experience, competition and support.
Dubravka said:

> “Everything moved pretty quickly and I’m really happy to be here.
> “I’ve loved watching Roberto De Zerbi’s teams over the years and know all about his style, vision and the fantastic fans here.

Dubravka spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Manchester United as a backup goalkeeper and is expected to feature in domestic cup competitions for Tottenham.
Known for his ability with the ball at his feet, the Slovakia international joins Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke as part of De Zerbi’s rebuilding project at Spurs.
De Zerbi said:
> “I am very happy because Martin is a goalkeeper with big experience and a strong mentality.
> “He has very important qualities for me and will bring balance, leadership and competitiveness to our dressing room.”
Despite completing another transfer, Tottenham are still looking to strengthen their midfield, which remains a priority position this summer.
One of the biggest stories of the transfer window has been Spurs’ interest in Sandro Tonali, but it appears both Tottenham and Newcastle have suffered a setback in their search for midfield reinforcements.
Midfielder rejects Premier League move
According to Sky Italy journalist Matteo Barzaghi, Inter Milan midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic has rejected a move to England.
Newcastle were linked with the midfielder in January and reportedly renewed their interest this summer. Barzaghi claims Tottenham and Brentford also submitted offers.
The 20-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Belgian side Club Brugge, is determined to establish himself at Inter after the Italian club activated a €23 million option to bring him back.
Barzaghi said:
> “He turned down Brentford – and I’d add Tottenham too. He’s absolutely determined to stay at Inter. Then there are the various dynamics of the transfer market but Inter want players who are absolutely determined to stay.”
The defensive midfielder made 10 Champions League appearances for Club Brugge last season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
He also averaged 2.9 tackles and interceptions per game, ranking among the club’s top performers as they reached the knockout stages before being eliminated by Atletico Madrid.
Tottenham and Newcastle will now have to explore alternative midfield targets. For Newcastle, missing out on Stankovic could be an additional concern if it encourages Spurs to intensify their pursuit of Sandro Tonali.
