The player is understood to be available this summer as his current club prepares to listen to offers, potentially opening the door for a transfer that could quickly become one of the most intriguing deals of the window.
Sources indicate that the Italian giants are prepared to sanction the player’s departure for a fee believed to be in the region of £30 million to £35 million. Newcastle are among the clubs keeping an eye on the situation, although no agreement has been reached and discussions over personal terms have yet to begin.
The identity of the player is Christopher Nkunku, the France international currently with AC Milan. The versatile attacker is reportedly open to the possibility of moving to Newcastle, while his wage expectations are understood to be around £5 million net per season.

The Frenchman has also built an impressive reputation throughout his career. He subsequently moved to Chelsea before continuing his career in Italy with AC Milan.
However, his situation at San Siro has now created uncertainty over his future. Milan are reportedly prepared to consider selling him as they look to reshape their squad, meaning interested clubs could have an opportunity to secure a proven attacker for a relatively manageable transfer fee.
For Newcastle, the timing could be particularly interesting.
The Magpies are looking to strengthen their attacking options and add more quality and flexibility to the squad.
