Alan Shearer Went Brutal Tears INTO Sandro Tonali amid Transfer Agreement To Join Tottenham Hotspur

Sandro Tonali is currently the subject of many transfer rumours, with the Newcastle United midfielder strongly linked to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Italy international’s future has been under discussion since February, when a winter deadline-day move to Arsenal was reported in the media.

Since then, Tonali’s agent has done little to calm speculation that the 26-year-old may be open to a move elsewhere, although Tonali himself has not publicly indicated any unhappiness at Newcastle.

It is not possible to confirm what has been said behind the scenes. Eddie Howe previously kept details private regarding Alexander Isak’s situation last year, so although reports suggest Tonali is not pushing for a move, this cannot be confirmed.

Alan Shearer comments on Tonali and Spurs interest

Alan Shearer has said he does not believe a move to Tottenham Hotspur would make sense for Tonali at this stage, although he added he would not stand in the way if the player wants to leave.

“Tottenham just avoided relegation. I get the attraction of London but going to Spurs – who have finished so low over the last two years – would be a surprise career move for Tonali in my eyes. But I’m not surprised if it’s true that he’s made an indication that he wants to leave Newcastle.

“Again, if he doesn’t want to be there, you put the price you want and if someone wants to pay it, and it looks as if it’ll have to be three figures, then you say thank you very much, get the £100million plus and you move on.

“I know Spurs have a new manager and that may be a pull for him, London obviously. But in terms of the football club, look where they have finished the last two years.”

Spurs interest and Newcastle’s position

Tottenham Hotspur could become a surprise contender next season if they manage to sign Sandro Tonali.

There is an understanding that Spurs are investing heavily in the transfer market as they attempt to improve after recent poor league finishes, and Tonali would represent a major addition to their squad.

As the summer window progresses, there is growing uncertainty over whether Tonali will still be at Newcastle United by the start of the new season.

Newcastle’s focus, if he does leave, would be to reinvest the fee into one or more suitable replacements.
