“Wishing My Teammates All the Best” – Brighton Player Confirms Exit in Emotional Statement

Evan Ferguson has said thank you and farewell to AS Roma after his loan spell, and the Italian club’s fans have responded with messages of support.

The Brighton striker scored five goals during his time in Serie A, including two in a Europa League match against Celtic, and also registered two assists in 22 appearances.

Ferguson had arrived at Roma last July with high expectations and was warmly received by supporters, but his progress was affected by injury issues and Roma’s more cautious playing style.

He is now facing a spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on a persistent ankle problem. Reports suggest he is unlikely to return in time for pre-season with Brighton.

Ferguson posted images from his time in Italy and wrote:

“No one wants their time cut short, but injuries are part of the game.

Thank you to everyone at Roma and to the fans for the support over the last few months. Wishing my team-mates and everyone at the club all the best for the future. Forza Roma.”

Roma fans replied with supportive messages, praising his effort and wishing him well, with some calling him unlucky and predicting he could return stronger in the future.

Despite flashes of promise, Ferguson did not fully establish himself during his spell in Italy, though Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler has previously said he still sees a role for him at the club.

Ferguson’s focus now is recovery and returning to full fitness, with any summer move currently considered unlikely.
