Nottingham Forest have made an official €16 million bid for Archie Brown, a 23-year-old defender currently playing for Fenerbahçe.
Reports from Turkey indicate that Forest have formally approached Fenerbahçe with this offer. However, the Turkish club are holding out for €18 million, meaning an extra €2 million could be enough to complete the deal.
Forest have now entered the race to sign Brown ahead of the summer transfer window. Despite the official bid, negotiations may not progress quickly, as the final decision could depend on the club’s Premier League status.
Brown joined Fenerbahçe from K.A.A. Gent at the start of the season for €9 million. Since then, he has impressed with four goals and seven assists in 36 appearances.
Although currently valued at around €9 million, Fenerbahçe are aiming to at least double their investment. Brown is also under contract until 2028, which puts the club in a strong position and reduces any pressure to sell.
