Daka delivered one of his best performances for the club, showing sharp awareness and pace to capitalize on defensive mistakes. He opened the scoring after reacting quickly to a poor back-pass, taking advantage of a slip by Daniel Iversen to finish into an empty net.
Leicester started strongly and looked in control, creating chances through quick attacking play. Daka remained a constant threat, pressing aggressively and making intelligent runs. He nearly added another goal after a clever touch inside the box, but Iversen managed to deny him.
Despite their bright start, Leicester’s momentum collapsed late in the first half. Andrew Moran equalized after a quick counterattack, and shortly before halftime, Ben Whiteman scored from a corner to give the visitors a 2-1 lead.
In the second half, Leicester pushed hard for a response. They dominated possession and created several chances, but Iversen produced key saves to keep Preston ahead. Efforts from Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp were denied as the pressure continued to build.
With around 10 minutes remaining, Leicester finally found a breakthrough. A loose ball fell kindly to Daka, who reacted quickly to finish first time, with the ball clipping the crossbar on its way in.
The home side pushed for a late winner, but despite the pressure and added time, they could not find a third goal and had to settle for a draw.
That result sums up Leicester’s current situation. There are signs of improvement under Gary Rowett, with the team losing fewer games, but the bigger issue remains results.
As one strong reaction puts it: “We are losing less, but one win is not enough. With teams around us picking up points, draws simply don’t help. Even beating Sheffield Wednesday doesn’t mean much when everyone else is doing the same.”
