🚨 SHOCK SWAP DEAL: Newcastle Set to Bring BACK Former Magpies Star as Bombshell Player Exchange Talks HEAT UP!

Newcastle United are reportedly exploring a sensational swap-loan arrangement that could see a former Magpies striker return to St James’ Park, with talks said to be heating up behind the scenes. The proposed deal could involve Newcastle sending one of their own attacking stars in the opposite direction, creating a potentially dramatic exchange if negotiations progress.

Reports suggest the Saudi Pro League could be at the centre of the developing story, with Newcastle looking at a loan agreement that would bring proven Premier League quality back to Tyneside. While nothing has been officially agreed, the possibility of a swap deal is reportedly being discussed, and the situation could become increasingly serious if both clubs find common ground.

The player at the centre of the Newcastle side of the proposal is Nick Woltemade, the Germany international who has already made a significant impact since arriving at St James’ Park.

Woltemade joined Newcastle from Stuttgart in 2025 and quickly demonstrated why the club invested heavily in him. His height, technical ability and versatility have made him an interesting attacking option, while his goalscoring contribution has added another dimension to Newcastle’s forward line.

However, the reported possibility of including him in a temporary arrangement would undoubtedly raise eyebrows among Newcastle supporters.

On the other side of the proposed deal is Ivan Toney, a player who has a unique connection with Newcastle. Toney joined the Magpies in 2015 but struggled to establish himself in the first team before moving on and building his career elsewhere.

His development at Peterborough United and Brentford transformed him into one of England’s most dangerous centre-forwards. Toney eventually earned international recognition with England before making a major move to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.

Since moving to the Middle East, the striker has continued to demonstrate his goalscoring ability, becoming an important figure for the Saudi club.

A return to Newcastle would therefore represent a fascinating chapter in his career.

From Newcastle’s perspective, Toney could provide exactly the type of experience and physical presence that could strengthen the attack. His ability to hold up the ball, compete aerially, finish chances and operate as a traditional number nine could give the Magpies another attacking option.

The reported swap structure is what makes the story particularly intriguing.

Rather than Newcastle simply attempting to negotiate a straightforward permanent transfer, a loan exchange could potentially allow both clubs to benefit. Newcastle would get an experienced Premier League striker, while Al-Ahli could receive a talented forward in return.

There is, however, a major caveat.

The reported swap deal is not confirmed. Neither Newcastle nor Al-Ahli has officially announced an agreement, and there is no confirmation at this stage that Woltemade has been offered as part of a completed transaction.

For now, it should therefore be viewed as a developing transfer report rather than a done deal.

Nevertheless, with talk of negotiations reportedly underway and the possibility of a swap structure being discussed, Newcastle fans will certainly be watching the situation closely.

If the talks genuinely accelerate, the Magpies could find themselves involved in one of the most unexpected deals of the transfer window — bringing a familiar Premier League goalscorer back to Tyneside while potentially sending one of their own attacking stars on loan in the opposite direction.

Nothing is signed yet, but the reported talks are heating up — and this potential swap could become one to watch.
