As part of that long-term vision, Newcastle United have now confirmed the temporary departure of one of their highly-rated young talents, with Antonio Cordero set to leave the club on loan for the 2026/27 season.
The 19-year-old winger will return to Cádiz CF following a successful loan spell during the second half of the 2025/26 campaign, where he impressed with his performances in the Spanish Segunda División.
Cordero made 21 appearances for Cádiz, scoring three goals and gaining valuable first-team experience as he continued his development.
The Spanish winger joined Newcastle United from Málaga in the summer of 2025 after an impressive season in Spain, where he recorded six goals in 39 appearances during the 2024/25 Segunda División campaign.
After completing his move to St James’ Park, Cordero spent the first half of last season on loan at Belgian side KVC Westerlo before making the switch to Cádiz.
Newcastle United believe another season of regular football will be crucial for Cordero’s development, with the club continuing to monitor his progress closely.
