Newcastle United have reached an agreement with Christopher Nkunku over a potential summer move, with the French forward now keen on completing a transfer to St James’ Park.
Nkunku’s future at AC Milan has become increasingly uncertain after the 28-year-old was left out of the squad for the friendly against Manchester United.
The Frenchman is now considered to be on the fringes of Milan’s plans, with the club prepared to listen to offers for him before the transfer window closes.

Several clubs have shown interest in Nkunku, including RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Roma, Galatasaray and other Premier League sides. Barcelona have also been offered the opportunity to sign the striker as they search for a new forward.
However, Newcastle have now emerged as a serious destination for the former Chelsea star.
Reports indicate that Nkunku has reached an agreement with Newcastle United, meaning the player’s side has given the green light for the proposed move.
The next step is for Newcastle and AC Milan to reach a final agreement over the transfer fee and structure of the deal.
Milan are understood to value Nkunku at around €35 million, although a fee of approximately €30 million could reportedly be enough to avoid making a loss on the player, who joined the Italian club from Chelsea for €37 million plus bonuses.
With the transfer window entering its final stages, negotiations are expected to move quickly as Newcastle look to complete a deal for the French international.
