According to Corriere della Sera, Lazio are interested in signing the 22-year-old centre-back as they look to rebuild their squad ahead of the new season.
Lazio are expected to make major changes in defence and have identified Coppola as a target due to their preference for signing young Italian players. Reports suggest negotiations with Brighton have been progressing well.
The defender is valued at around €12 million, but Brighton’s willingness to allow a loan deal with an option to buy has made the move more attractive for Lazio. The structure would allow the Italian club to delay the financial commitment while using their current funds on other transfers.
Coppola only joined Brighton last summer in an €11 million deal but struggled to establish himself under Fabian Hurzeler. He spent the second half of the season on loan at French club Paris FC, who are not interested in signing him permanently.
The defender is now set to return to Brighton, where he still has four years remaining on his contract. However, the Seagulls appear open to letting him leave as he is not considered part of their long-term plans.
