Newcastle United have reportedly made their position clear on Matthias Jaissle as pressure continues to grow around the manager following another disappointing run of results.
The Magpies have endured a difficult spell in the Premier League, with results failing to match the expectations surrounding the club after the summer changes. Questions have increasingly been raised about Jaissle’s tactics, team selections and whether he is capable of turning the situation around.
However, despite the growing frustration among supporters, there is reportedly no immediate plan to remove the Newcastle boss.
That is where the latest development becomes particularly interesting.
According to the latest report, Newcastle’s hierarchy are continuing to back Jaissle and are prepared to give him more time to implement his ideas. The club are understood to recognise that the German coach arrived during a period of significant change and that injuries and squad issues have also affected his early months in charge.

The situation, however, is not completely without danger.
Newcastle’s poor run has placed greater attention on the manager, particularly after another damaging league defeat. The club now need to start producing consistent results before the pressure becomes even greater.
And there is another name that has added an interesting twist to the situation.
Kieran McKenna was previously considered by Newcastle during the club’s search for a new head coach following Eddie Howe’s departure. His name was reportedly among the candidates looked at by the hierarchy before the club ultimately settled on Jaissle.
That previous interest does not mean Newcastle are currently negotiating with McKenna or preparing to replace Jaissle with him. Instead, his name has resurfaced because of the growing discussion surrounding the current manager.
For Newcastle supporters, the biggest takeaway is therefore clear: Jaissle is not currently facing an immediate sack, despite the mounting pressure.
The hierarchy reportedly remain willing to give him time, but that patience will ultimately depend on results.
The next few weeks could prove extremely important. If Newcastle begin climbing the table and performances improve, the pressure surrounding Jaissle should ease considerably.
But if the poor form continues and the club find themselves dragged towards the relegation battle, the conversation could change very quickly.
For now, though, the Newcastle board appear to be standing behind their manager rather than preparing the exit door.
And with McKenna having previously been considered, supporters will undoubtedly keep a close eye on developments if results fail to improve.
The pressure is rising — but Matthias Jaissle remains Newcastle United’s manager, and the board are reportedly still backing him.
