Angry Leicester City fans have been left fuming after Peterborough United manager Robbie Savage made an emotional statement following his side’s stunning 3-1 victory over the Foxes at the King Power Stadium.
While Savage described the result as one of the greatest days of his life, his comments have added another talking point to an already painful afternoon for Leicester supporters, who watched their team suffer another disappointing defeat on home soil.
Savage Celebrates While Leicester Fans Suffer
Speaking after the match, Savage described the 3-1 victory as “one of the greatest days of my life without question”.
The Peterborough boss had every reason to celebrate after leading his team to an impressive victory at his former club in his first Sky Bet League One match in charge.
However, with Leicester fans still coming to terms with another humiliating result, Savage’s emotional celebrations and glowing assessment of his players have become a source of frustration for some supporters.
The contrast was difficult to ignore. While Peterborough celebrated a memorable afternoon, Leicester were left to deal with another damaging result that increased the pressure surrounding Russell Martin and his team.

Savage Makes His Feelings Clear
Savage also reflected on his remarkable journey from managing in the lower levels of English football to winning at the King Power Stadium.
He praised his players for their collective effort, tactical discipline and attacking approach, insisting that they had executed their plans impressively despite having only ten days of training together.
The Peterborough manager was particularly pleased with how his team performed without the ball, highlighting their discipline and organisation throughout the contest.
Savage also acknowledged Russell Martin’s quality as a manager and recognised the open nature of the match.
Despite the mixed reception he received from home supporters, Savage made it clear that his focus remains on his current club and the work he has ahead of him at Peterborough.
Leicester Fans Have Had Enough
But for Leicester supporters, the bigger issue is what the result says about their own club.
Losing 3-1 at home to Peterborough was painful enough, and the frustration surrounding Martin’s position has only made matters worse.
Some fans may see Savage’s comments as perfectly understandable after a historic personal achievement, while others will struggle to stomach the celebrations as their own team continues to disappoint.
The anger is not simply about Savage enjoying his victory. It is also about the growing frustration among Leicester supporters who want to see their club respond on the pitch rather than give them more reasons to worry.

Did well at my home town team of Macclesfield. Never responded to an invitation to talk to our charity organisation though. Not surprised he’s over the moon that he put one over on the Foxes though at present that’s hardly an achievement.
