Despite the growing frustration surrounding the club following two consecutive relegations, Leicester’s hierarchy remain convinced that the club are finally heading in the right direction.
According to John Percy of The Telegraph, Leicester are fully supportive of Martin and believe he is the manager capable of leading the club’s revival.
That decision is certainly going to divide opinion among supporters.
Martin’s appointment was already controversial after his difficult 17-game spell at Rangers, while his start at Leicester has done little to silence those questioning whether he was the right man for such a huge rebuilding job.
There have already been painful moments.
The 4-0 defeat to Oxford United exposed serious weaknesses, with Martin himself admitting that Leicester were too soft, lacked energy and aggression and needed to be much better.
But despite all of that, Leicester’s hierarchy have apparently NO PLANS TO PANIC.
Instead, the club believe Martin fits the profile they wanted because of his playing style and experience.
And this is where things become even more interesting.
Leicester are not simply hoping for promotion.
A 90-POINT TARGET has reportedly been set.
The club have a clear roadmap in place and believe promotion back to the Championship is the ultimate objective.
That means the pressure on Martin is enormous.
There will be nowhere to hide if Leicester fail to challenge at the top of League One.
But the club’s decision to continue backing him suggests that, internally, there is a belief that the current project needs time rather than another change of manager.

Leicester have also completely reshaped the squad, with 14 new players arriving during the summer transfer window.
And their latest result gives Martin something to build on.
The Foxes produced a dramatic 4-3 victory away at Stockport County, their first away win of the campaign, although they almost threw away a 4-1 advantage after Stockport fought back.
So while some supporters may already be questioning Martin, Leicester’s hierarchy appear to be looking at the bigger picture.
The message from the club is simple:
They believe Martin is the man.
They believe the squad can deliver promotion.
They believe 90 points is achievable.
And most importantly, they believe Leicester are finally moving in the right direction after an incredibly painful period.
Whether supporters eventually agree with that vision could depend entirely on what happens over the next few months.
Because with a 90-POINT PROMOTION TARGET now reportedly on the table, Martin has been given a very clear challenge.
Get Leicester back up.
