Newcastle United suffered a disastrous 4-1 defeat to Leeds United in the Premier League, with the Magpies completely outplayed during a miserable afternoon at Elland Road.
Newcastle struggled to control the game in the middle of the park, while Leeds dominated possession and created numerous problems for Matthias Jaissle’s side.
Ao Tanaka opened the scoring for Leeds before Jayden Bogle and Dominic Calvert-Lewin added further goals to put the hosts 3-0 ahead before half-time.
Noah Okafor then made it 4-0 shortly after the break, piling further misery on Newcastle and leaving Jaissle with serious questions to answer after his side’s worst performance of the season.

Bazoumana Toure scored a late consolation for Newcastle, but it was nowhere near enough to prevent Leeds from securing an emphatic 4-1 victory.
It was a disastrous result for Newcastle, whose unbeaten Premier League start under newly appointed manager Matthias Jaissle came to a brutal end.
The Magpies had looked vulnerable throughout the match, particularly in midfield, as Leeds repeatedly exploited the spaces and physical weaknesses in Newcastle’s setup.
Jaissle will now have to quickly find solutions after his side were comprehensively outplayed, with Newcastle needing to respond when they return to action against Hull City at St James’ Park.
Meanwhile, former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer did not hold back when reacting to his former club’s performance.
The Newcastle legend described the display in brutally honest terms, calling it an embarrassing performance from the Toon.
“An absolute shit show from the Toon. 3-0 at HT is embarrassing #LEENEW”
Shearer’s reaction perfectly summed up the mood surrounding Newcastle after a humiliating afternoon in Yorkshire.
The defeat will now provide Jaissle with one of his biggest tests since taking charge, as Newcastle look to recover from their heavy loss and prove that the performance at Elland Road was only a temporary setback.
