“I Can’t Believe He Said This!” 😱 Russell Martin LEAVES Leicester Fans FURIOUS After This UNBELIEVABLE Statement Following Oxford United’s 4-0 King Power DEMOLITION

Oxford United stunned Leicester City with a 4-0 demolition at the King Power Stadium in their EFL League One clash. The comprehensive victory marked a sensational performance by the visitors, who completely overwhelmed a struggling Leicester side under Russell Martin.

Oxford gained momentum as the first half progressed and went into the break with a crucial one-goal lead. Despite an important clearance from Leicester’s Michal Helik, the hosts struggled to contain Oxford’s attacking threat.

The second half turned into a complete nightmare for Leicester as Oxford ran riot, scoring three goals in quick succession.

In the 55th minute, 17-year-old Mo Missanga doubled Oxford’s lead. The teenager received a square pass from Kai Andrews, chopped onto his right foot and calmly tucked the ball past goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.

Just three minutes later, Andrews turned provider again, teeing up Mark Harris, who precisely placed his effort into the bottom-left corner from the edge of the area to make it 3-0.

Oxford continued to punish Leicester in the closing stages. Aston Villa loanee Luka Lynch delivered a superb low cross to Jamie McDonnell, who tapped the ball home at the back post to score his first goal for the club and complete the 4-0 demolition.

Despite Leicester dominating possession with 76.9 per cent and completing 581 passes compared with Oxford’s 174, the visitors were far more effective when it mattered. Oxford repeatedly exploited Leicester on the counter-attack and punished the hosts’ defensive weaknesses.

The defeat leaves Russell Martin searching for answers, with Leicester struggling to adapt following back-to-back relegations down to the third tier. Oxford, meanwhile, responded perfectly to their midweek defeat against Huddersfield Town with a statement victory on the road.

Following the crushing defeat, Martin expressed his frustration while attempting to identify a few positives from a performance that brutally exposed the vulnerabilities in his squad.

The Leicester boss pointed to an early opportunity created by deadline-day debutant Emil Riis as one of the moments that showed what his revamped squad could offer. He also highlighted Jayden Joseph’s efforts in attack, with the youngster working hard and forcing two strong saves from Oxford goalkeeper Simon Eastwood.

However, Martin also questioned the circumstances surrounding Oxford’s opening goal, with replays appearing to suggest that the ball may have brushed Mark Harris’s arm on its way over the line following a cross.

Despite his frustration with the decision, Martin did not hide from Leicester’s own shortcomings. He admitted that the team’s defensive execution was nowhere near good enough, particularly criticising the poor marking that allowed Oxford players to move freely inside the box.

The result has only intensified the scrutiny surrounding Martin’s tactics. Leicester supporters have expressed growing frustration with the team’s slow, sideways passing from the back, while others have criticised the lack of urgency when possession was lost.

There has also been criticism of the midfield and defence for failing to track Oxford’s runners, leaving the visitors with too much space to launch dangerous counter-attacks.

With just one win from their opening five league matches, the pressure on Martin is now mounting rapidly. The 4-0 defeat has not only exposed Leicester’s defensive problems but also raised fresh questions over whether the manager can find a solution before the situation becomes even more difficult.
