Anthony Elanga had already given Newcastle United supporters plenty to celebrate after helping the Magpies secure a huge 2-0 victory over Tottenham, but his goal celebration quickly became one of the biggest talking points of the night.
Newcastle travelled to North London looking to build on their encouraging start under new head coach Matthias Jaissle, and they produced another impressive performance to leave Tottenham without a point from their opening two Premier League games.
Elanga opened the scoring before Yoane Wissa added a second, giving Newcastle a deserved victory and sending the travelling supporters into celebration.

But there was something particularly special about Elanga’s moment after finding the back of the net.
The Swedish winger produced a celebration that immediately caught the attention of football fans, and after the match, he revealed that it was not something he had planned randomly.
Instead, the celebration was inspired by one of the greatest forwards in Premier League history.
Speaking after the game, Elanga explained the inspiration behind the memorable moment and revealed his admiration for former Arsenal and France superstar Thierry Henry.
“Thierry Henry is my favourite player, I KNEW if I scored then the celebration would come out,” Elanga said.
The admission gave Newcastle supporters another reason to love the moment, with Elanga finally getting the opportunity to perform the celebration after finding the net against Spurs.
The goal itself was also significant for the 24-year-old, who continued his promising start to the new campaign after impressing during Newcastle’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool.
Elanga has now scored his second goal of the season, while Wissa opened his Newcastle account with the second goal against Tottenham.
The performances of the two forwards have also attracted plenty of praise, particularly from Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher.
“In Elanga and Wissa, it’s like two new players!” Carragher said as Newcastle secured their first Premier League victory of the season.
Newcastle’s attacking duo were brought in for a combined £110m last summer, and there had been questions over whether they could consistently produce the quality expected of them.
However, under Jaissle, both players appear to be finding another level.
The new Newcastle boss has already brought a different energy to the team, with the Magpies showing greater freedom, confidence and togetherness in their performances.
Jaissle also handed Nico Gonzalez his Newcastle debut against Tottenham, and the midfielder immediately made an impact by providing the pass that led to Elanga’s opening goal.
The victory was particularly important given the doubts surrounding Newcastle before the season began.
After another difficult transfer window and widespread talk of a potential season of struggle, many supporters were unsure what to expect from Jaissle’s side.
Yet after two impressive performances, the mood around the club has changed dramatically.
Newcastle supporters even left the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium singing about European football.
Those chants may have been partly tongue-in-cheek, but there is growing optimism that Jaissle could have Newcastle playing with the freedom and unity required to challenge much higher up the Premier League table.
