Newcastle United supporters could be in for another dramatic twist before the summer transfer window closes, with Matthias Jaissle’s latest comments raising fresh questions about the club’s plans for the final days of the window.
The Newcastle head coach has made it clear that the club still has areas that need attention, while the pressure continues to build on the Sporting Director to complete any remaining business before deadline day.
Speaking about the closing stages of the window, Jaissle admitted: “I think it will be a stressful period for our Sporting Director. We have some needs, definitely.”
Those words immediately sparked further speculation over Newcastle’s transfer plans, particularly with the club continuing to assess potential targets.

And one player now attracting attention is Barcelona midfielder Marc Casadó.
Casadó is reportedly among the players Barcelona are willing to let leave this summer, with the Catalan giants said to value the midfielder at around €30 million-€40 million.
The 21-year-old has also been involved under Hansi Flick at Barcelona, making the situation particularly interesting as clubs across Europe assess whether they can secure his signature before the window shuts.
According to the latest reports, Nottingham Forest are currently leading the race for Casadó, while Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Brighton and Sunderland have also shown interest.
However, Newcastle’s chances could depend heavily on the midfielder’s own preference, with Casadó reportedly prioritising a move that would allow him to remain in Europe.
That leaves Newcastle facing competition if they decide to push ahead with their interest.
For Jaissle, though, the bigger issue is that his latest comments have confirmed that Newcastle are not necessarily finished in the transfer market.
His admission that the club has “some needs” has given supporters another reason to believe that further movement could take place before deadline day.
Whether Casadó ultimately becomes that player remains to be seen, but with Barcelona prepared to consider his departure and Newcastle among the interested clubs, the situation could develop quickly.
And with Jaissle warning that the final days will be “stressful” for the Sporting Director, Newcastle fans may have to wait until the final stages of the window to discover exactly what the club has planned.
