🚨 Sky Sports: BID ACCEPTED! Newcastle Hijack HUGE €40M+ Deal as Star Set for St James’ Park — Jaissle Gets Major “STRIKER” BOOST! BIG DEAL CONFIRMED

Newcastle United have reportedly taken a major step forward in their pursuit of one of Lille’s most exciting young attacking talents, with a fresh offer now understood to be on the table and the final decision increasingly resting with the player.

The Magpies have emerged as serious contenders for the highly-rated Lille star, with reports suggesting that Newcastle’s proposal is financially stronger than the offer made by RB Leipzig. The development has now turned the transfer into a fascinating battle, with the player’s preference expected to play a decisive role before the window closes.

According to reports from France, Newcastle have made a concrete approach for the 21-year-old attacker, who has attracted interest from several clubs across Europe. Lille are understood to have received a proposal worth around €40 million, with additional bonuses potentially taking the overall package higher.

The identity of the player is Matias Fernandez-Pardo, the Belgium international who enjoyed an impressive campaign with Lille last season.

Fernandez-Pardo made 41 appearances during the 2025/26 campaign, contributing eight goals and seven assists across competitions. His ability to operate in different attacking positions has made him an attractive option for clubs looking for a young player capable of developing into a major attacking asset.

Newcastle’s interest is particularly significant because the club appear willing to make a substantial financial commitment to win the race.

RB Leipzig have also been pushing for the Belgian, with reports indicating that they have submitted an offer in the region of €35 million plus add-ons. However, Newcastle’s proposal is understood to be more attractive financially, potentially giving the Premier League side an advantage in negotiations.

That does not mean the deal is guaranteed.

Lille remain reluctant to part ways with Fernandez-Pardo, particularly because the player still has a contract with the French club until 2029. Lille president Olivier Létang is also understood to have reservations about losing the attacker so late in the transfer window. Reports suggest the club would want a replacement secured before giving the green light to a departure.

There is also a reported difference between what Newcastle are offering and what Lille would ideally like to receive. Some French reports indicate that the Ligue 1 club could demand a figure closer to €70 million before seriously considering a sale.

However, the situation could ultimately come down to the player’s wishes.

Fernandez-Pardo is reportedly open to leaving Lille despite the opportunity to play Champions League football, while interest from Newcastle provides him with the chance to move to the Premier League and work under Matthias Jaissle.

For Newcastle, the pursuit fits perfectly with the club’s increasingly youth-focused recruitment strategy. The Magpies have already invested heavily in promising young players this summer and are continuing to search for attacking quality capable of developing alongside their existing squad.

The latest development therefore gives Newcastle fans genuine reason for optimism.

With the club’s offer reportedly stronger than Leipzig’s, Newcastle have put themselves in a powerful position financially. But with Lille still reluctant to sell and rival interest remaining, the final decision could now rest heavily on whether Fernandez-Pardo chooses a move to St James’ Park.

The transfer race is certainly not over, but Newcastle have made their intentions clear — and with the deadline approaching, this could become one of the most intriguing deals of the final days of the window.
