adminNewcastle United have already endured a turbulent summer, losing several key figures including Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali, while Bruno Guimarães is also expected to complete a move away from St James’ Park.
The club have also seen manager Eddie Howe depart his position, creating further uncertainty around the squad.
Amid the ongoing changes, another Newcastle player could be heading for the exit door, with reports claiming Nick Woltemade has been informed that he can leave the club on loan this summer. The Germany international has attracted interest from several European sides following a difficult spell at Newcastle.
Sources close to the agents’ industry have revealed that Liverpool and Manchester United are now monitoring Woltemade’s situation, joining the likes of Aston Villa, Atlético Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, who had previously shown interest in the forward.
Despite struggling to make the desired impact at Newcastle, Woltemade remains highly rated across Europe due to his versatility and potential. The 24-year-old can operate as a striker or attacking midfielder and could be viewed as a player capable of rebuilding his confidence at another top club.
A previous source explained that Newcastle are open to allowing Woltemade to leave, with the club reportedly preferring a permanent sale worth around €65 million. However, a loan deal with an option to buy is considered a more realistic possibility at this stage.
Liverpool and Manchester United have not made any official moves yet, and Woltemade is not currently viewed as a first-choice target for either club. However, both Premier League giants are expected to keep a close eye on developments as they assess options to strengthen their squads.
The situation represents another potential change at Newcastle during a summer of major transition, with the club hoping to bring stability after a series of significant departures.
