Newcastle United have reportedly identified Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa as one of their priority transfer targets this summer, with Dutch reports claiming the Algerian international is highly admired by incoming manager Matthias Jaissle.
According to VoetbalPrimeur, Jaissle has been tracking Hadj Moussa for some time and would like to bring the talented winger to St. James’ Park as he begins shaping his squad. Although no agreement has been reached between the two clubs, Newcastle’s interest is said to be genuine, with the Premier League side closely monitoring the player’s situation.

The 24-year-old enjoyed an impressive campaign for Feyenoord, showcasing his pace, dribbling ability and creativity in the final third. Comfortable operating on either flank but naturally left-footed, Hadj Moussa has established himself as one of the Eredivisie’s most exciting attacking players. His performances have attracted attention from several clubs across Europe, but Newcastle are believed to be among the sides showing the strongest interest.
Newcastle’s search for another attacking option comes as the club continues to reshape its squad ahead of the new season. Following a busy summer that has seen significant changes to the first-team squad, the Magpies are expected to strengthen several positions, with the wide attacking areas among the club’s priorities.
Reports also suggest Newcastle are in a healthy financial position to pursue new signings after major player sales boosted the club’s transfer budget. That financial flexibility could allow the Magpies to meet Feyenoord’s asking price should they decide to formalise their interest in Hadj Moussa.
According to VoetbalPrimeur, Feyenoord value the winger at around €40 million. The Dutch club are also reported to be open to player sales before making further additions to their own squad, although Hadj Moussa remains under contract for another four years, meaning they are under no immediate pressure to sell.
For Newcastle, the deal would represent another statement of intent as they prepare for a new chapter under Jaissle. The German coach is expected to place a strong emphasis on energetic, attacking football, and Hadj Moussa’s direct style, technical quality and ability to create chances could make him an ideal fit for that approach.
At this stage, there is no confirmation that negotiations are at an advanced stage, and no official bid has been announced. However, Newcastle’s interest appears to be serious, with the Magpies continuing to assess the feasibility of a move. If discussions progress in the coming weeks, Hadj Moussa could emerge as one of the standout transfer stories of the summer and potentially become one of the first major signings of the Matthias Jaissle era at St. James’ Park.
