BREAKING : Eddie Howe Exit Bombshell Emerges As Newcastle United Fans Left Stunned By Fresh Development

Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor believes Eddie Howe is waiting for an opportunity to leave Newcastle United.

The Magpies’ head coach heads into the new campaign already under pressure from sections of the fanbase following last season’s disappointing 12th-place Premier League finish.

Howe faces an uphill battle after losing two key players in Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali, while Newcastle also missed out on two major transfer targets in Victor Muñoz and Johan Manzambi, who joined Liverpool and Aston Villa respectively.

So far this summer, Newcastle have signed two 20-year-olds goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen and winger Bazoumana Touré from Stade de Reims and Hoffenheim for a combined £61 million, alongside 18-year-old midfielder Sean Steur from Ajax for £23 million.

Gabby Agbonlahor claims Eddie Howe wants to leave Newcastle United

The current situation at St James’ Park has led Agbonlahor to question whether Howe remains fully committed to the project.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor said:

“I look at Eddie Howe and I think, to be honest, he’s waiting to be… not sacked but like told, ‘you know, let’s go our separate ways.’

“I don’t think personally, he wants to stay at Newcastle. If there were another job open for Eddie Howe, I think he would move.

“I think Newcastle and Eddie Howe have gone as far as they can, and the investment that Newcastle fans and Eddie Howe thought they would have had, they aren’t going to have because of these financial fair play rules.

“I feel sorry for them because there are so many names they have missed out on.

“It’s getting a bit draining, I feel, if I’m Eddie Howe. I’ll be picking up the phone to the sporting director saying, ‘okay, missed out on another one.’

“It’s getting to the stage where it’s quite embarrassing, I feel, if I’m a Newcastle fan and very frustrating, especially when you’re losing Tonali, Gordon and Guimaraes wants to go. It’s a difficult time for Newcastle.”

Eddie Howe ‘100% committed’ to Newcastle United

Despite the speculation surrounding his future, Howe previously reaffirmed his commitment to Newcastle United when questioned about his position.

“For me, nothing’s changed, I’m absolutely 100% committed to the job,” Howe said.

“That commitment has never wavered from my side.”
