Newcastle United Fans Left Stunned As Major Fixture Changes Are Confirmed Ahead Of New Season

Newcastle United’s summer is beginning to feel like the start of a new era. After difficult decisions saw the departures of Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali, the club wasted little time putting plans into motion.

The Magpies’ first away match of the 2026/27 campaign against Tottenham Hotspur will remain on Saturday, 29 August, but the kick-off time has been moved from 3:00pm BST to 5:30pm BST, with the game set to be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Their home meeting with AFC Bournemouth on Saturday, 5 September, will now begin at 12:30pm BST instead of 3:00pm BST and will be shown live on TNT Sports.

Meanwhile, Eddie Howe’s side’s trip to Elland Road to face Leeds United has been moved from Saturday, 12 September, to Monday, 14 September, with an 8:00pm BST kick-off live on Sky Sports.

The fixture against Leeds could still return to its original date if either club reaches the Carabao Cup third round and is drawn against a team competing in this season’s UEFA Champions League.
