🚨 CONFIRMED: £75,000-a-Week Star Set for Newcastle Move as European Giants Reach Agreement With Magpies First-Team Star

£75,000-a-week player has agreed to join Newcastle, with the deal potentially set to be finalized this week – report

Tottenham Hotspur are making strides in their pursuit of Sandro Tonali, having reportedly reached a significant agreement with the midfielder, according to reports from Italy.

Spurs have been heavily linked with the Newcastle United midfielder this summer, having had an initial £75 million offer turned down by the Magpies earlier this month.

GIVEMESPORT reports that Tottenham intend to submit an improved offer, but Newcastle are seeking a total package of £100 million to consider sanctioning the transfer.

Sky Sport Italia has also indicated that Tonali has already ‘given his consent’ to Spurs, suggesting that the Lilywhites have made notable progress in negotiations.

Spurs Reach Personal Terms with Tonali

As reported by Italian outlet Sport Mediaset, Tonali has agreed personal terms on a six-year contract with Tottenham worth €12 million annually (£200,000 per week), including bonuses. However, their reporter Orazio Accomando noted that an agreement on the transfer fee between Newcastle and Spurs is still pending, although the north London club hope to finalise the deal this week.

It is reported that Tonali currently earns around £8 million per year at Newcastle, meaning he would receive a substantial salary increase at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs now need to conclude an agreement with Newcastle regarding the transfer fee and payment structure. GIVEMESPORT understands that Tottenham are prepared to raise their offer to £85 million, with possible add-ons, which could persuade Newcastle to consider a sale.

The north London club are facing competition for Tonali’s signature, with Manchester City also reportedly interested in the 26-year-old Italian international.

Roberto De Zerbi at the Helm of Spurs’ Summer Overhaul

Following a challenging previous season, Roberto De Zerbi is now spearheading a transformation of the squad he inherited.

Tottenham have already secured the signing of Jan Paul van Hecke for £52 million, in addition to bringing in Martin Dubravka, Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi.

According to GIVEMESPORT, Spurs are targeting a marquee signing this summer, with Tonali viewed as one of their priority targets. They are also exploring additional midfield reinforcements as De Zerbi looks to reshape his squad.

To steer Tottenham back towards the upper echelons of the Premier League, further acquisitions this summer are considered essential. Their ambitions are clear, and investing more than £80 million in Tonali would represent a major statement of intent as they attempt to re-establish themselves among England’s elite.
