After Isak Chaos 😡😤, Ekitike Hijack & Muñoz Heartbreak  — Liverpool Now in SHOCK Talks to Sign Newcastle Star

Liverpool’s chaotic summer transfer window continues to spark frustration among fans after the Isak saga last summer window, the Ekitike hijack from Newcastle United, and the Victor Muñoz twist and now another huge name has entered the spotlight.

The Reds are reportedly among several top clubs that have been sounded out over a potential move for Bruno Guimarães this summer, according to TeamTalk, as growing uncertainty surrounds the midfielder’s long-term future at Newcastle United.

The Brazilian star has now emerged as a serious target for Liverpool as they assess reinforcements in central midfield ahead of the transfer window. While the club has also been linked with Alex Scott, Arne Slot is believed to be looking for a mix of energy, creativity, and control in midfield — and Guimarães fits that profile at the highest level.

Liverpool Contacted Over Bruno Guimarães Deal

Reports from TeamTalk claim that Liverpool are one of multiple clubs already contacted regarding a possible deal for Guimarães.

Arsenal were previously said to have made an offer for the midfielder, who still has two years remaining on his Newcastle contract.

However, Liverpool are far from alone in the race. Intermediaries have also reached out to Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, all of whom have been informed about a possible transfer opportunity.

Newcastle United, meanwhile, are not actively looking to sell the 28-year-old, who has already made 195 appearances for the club since arriving from Lyon in 2022.

But despite that stance, there is growing uncertainty around his future, and a summer exit is not being completely ruled out if a significant offer arrives. Several elite clubs are now monitoring the situation closely.

At this stage, it remains unclear whether Liverpool will progress beyond initial contact, but any move for Guimarães would represent a massive statement from the Anfield club amid an already turbulent transfer window.

Liverpool Transfer Fund Concerns

Even though Guimarães is widely regarded as “one of the best midfielders in the world,” concerns remain over Liverpool’s ability to finance such a deal this summer.

The club is already preparing a major financial push to sign Yan Diomande, a priority target seen as a long-term successor to Mohamed Salah on the right flank.

On top of that, Liverpool have already committed heavily in recent windows, with big-money moves involving players such as Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz.

With spending already stretched across multiple positions, Liverpool’s squad is beginning to reflect heavy investment in key areas of the pitch.

Guimarães, now 28, also raises questions over long-term planning, with Liverpool increasingly focusing on younger, high-potential targets who offer better future value and resale potential.

Because of these factors, a move for the Newcastle midfielder is currently viewed as unlikely, with Liverpool expected to prioritise more cost-effective alternatives as they continue shaping Arne Slot’s squad rebuild.
